About Meridian

About

A pan-european alternative investment firm, founded in Madrid in 2014 to finance companies that are too complicated for a bank and too small for the large funds.

Who we are

A pan-european alternative investment firm

Meridian Capital was founded in Madrid in 2014 by three investors who had spent the previous decade watching good Iberian companies take the wrong money — expensive when they needed patience, restrictive when they needed room. The firm started with a single €180m fund and one mandate: back profitable mid-market businesses across Europe with whichever instrument actually fits.

Twelve years later that has become four strategies and more than €3.5bn of commitments from pension funds, insurers, family offices and sovereign investors. What has not changed is the size of company we care about, the length of time we stay, or the fact that every decision — equity or debt, €10m or €120m — is taken by one investment committee in one room.
